Ahh, I went to my first concert ever...
It was friday, and Suraj and Allison were going to see Hoobastank and All American Rejects down at the Tabernacle. It was part of the Nokia Unwired Tour. Since nokia love shameless promotion.
At first I did not, would not go. I am all weary of new situations, and always expect something weird and unconfortable to happen. It usually turns out that I have fun, but I will still fight to the end. Nonetheless, I was interested. I was inquisitive, and pretty much got into the arena of what to expect. I looked online, and stuff, and was going to buy the ticket. Turns out the ticket was no longer avaliable online, since I took so freaking long to decide to go. So, since my car was all the way on the Doraville Marta station (which is like a 40 min train ride), I decided to ride with Suraj. Then again, Suraj was the only person that reasonably knew where the place was.
First we went to pick up Suraj Sister. I coun't remember her name, even thought I saw here like 4 times. Anywho, she goes to GA Tech, and I got to see their campus for the first time. It was interesting, people were all walking around, and their dorm rooms and stuff are all near the school. It's a closed campus, so it figures. The rooms were rather small, and I was a bit taken back by that. Although, I was told that most people spend time on class or studying.
Anywho, while the rooms were small, they were uber personal. Among all the rooms that I passed, they were all decorated wall to wall (mind you, there wasn't much wall) with posters and pictures and other memorabilia. I wish I had a room like that, even though I would have a roommate, it would have still been fun. Well, and there is the whole factoid that the majority of the student body is male, versus a female majority here at Georgia State. I should consider cross campus dating for sure.
Anywho, back to the whole concert thing...
We arrived there, I went to buy my ticket, and my stoopid bank card got denied. Good thing I had my backup credit card, and that worked. We ended up getting something to eat before we went in. We went to subway, but the guy was completelly not listening. I asked for half something, he gave me the whole thing. Then, I asked to put some extra mayo, and he just ignored me. I also asked for only two pickles, and he gave me three. Then, he looks at me, just like when he put a whole patty, and says, "Ohh, did you want two?" In my head I am thinking, "Yeah, of course I want two, or else I would not have asked for it." Good thing they didn't have a tip option on the receipt, because he deserved no tip.
Ok, the concert again...
We finally went in, after everyone got together. Suraj, Andi (his sister), Allison, Rose, Rose's BF, and Suraj's two good friends from not so close. They all pretty much went to the upper balcony, except for Rose and her BF. They went to the area in front of the stage, and I tagged along. Rose was telling me that we would try to get close. She had to pull me by my hand so I would not get stuck behind. She is used to concerts, and such. It was fun overall. First there was this group that did Spanish songs, and some other songs for some time. I thought they were pretty cool, but not everyone was feeling them.
Soon, they started getting ready for the main show. Hoobastank was the first group to play. I knew one of their songs, I think. I had heard a bit of the others, but never focused on them. People were jumping along with the harder beats, and there was a good amount of crowd surfing. There was this girl, who crowd surfed from the wrong section. She went along a section of teeny boppers. Since they were all girls, and small, they didn't really hold her weight, and the poor girl, went head first into the ground. She ended up being ok, because of the friction of bodies when she was falling, but she lost her phone. When she came up she was red, and dazed. She walked out, and some securuties checked if she was ok. They later came looking for her phone.
Anywho, I had fun, and I am glad I took my undershirt off earlier in the day. It got kinda warm, and I would have hated being unconfortable. Hoobstank was fun to watch, and we energetic overall.
Later came the All American Rejects (AAR). That is when the whole group of people I got there with, went down to where I was. Andi had bought herself a AAR hat. Allison, was all giddy about the whole thing, and was singing and rocking out the whole time AAR was on stage. For some strange reason the girls were all dreamy about the lead singer (bassist) and the other guitarrist. I don't get it that much, but oki. I was frankly interested in the drummer. *gwa ha ha*
AAR put on a fun energetic show. It was kewl to watch them, and they kinda plaid things down towards the end, and pulled out some chairs, and did a song purelly on guitars. It had a very homey feeling to it. They sat down, drank bear, and some people lighted a ciggy. The was this interesting guy, along with the band. He was shirtless, and had "Soy Bomb" written on this chest. He went all around stage acting like a foot, and rubbed over the drummers chest. *grins*
I had fun fun, and was glad to go. After I got out, the other people stayed in a bit. That is when I found out what loud loud loud music does to a person. For a bit, all the sounds were crackled. After that everything was almost mute on the right ear, and very echoey on my left. I bum aproached me, and gave me a newspaper, and since I could not hear him, I just got mumbles, and the foul smell of booze. I ended up giving him 3 bucks, which I still feel like a moron about. He then asked for more, and said he had change for a ten or a twenty. I just said that was all the money I had, and walked back towards the Tabernacle.
After a bit, everyone got out. I saw them talking to Hoobastank trough a window, that allowed me to see into the back area of the place. Surge got me a green cube, and he mentioned in how much pain he was because of it. I didn't pay heed to it when I first heard it. Then, he said he had to chug a huge bottle of 7up to get it. He did it on an empty stomach, which is just awful.
Ohh, *laughs*, I had called him once to see when they were coming out, and all I could heard was this squaky voice. I didn't think it was him, but when he came out, I heard the same voice. He lost it by being overly loud while singing along to Hoobastank. We tried talking on the way home, but he was mostly mute, and I was mostly deaf. That did not work very well.
Next day at work was intersting, since I was on charge of answering the phone.
