Bleah.
Work is fun, and it's not. I am not stressed about things, but things are getting to be annoying. We have been busier latelly, and I like that, but that makes things crazy.
It's getting near my "Go to Brazil during Christmas and New Years" time. I gotta turn in my resignation, since they won't allow me to have the vacation time. I turned my notice in like April, and everyone did the Mexican Hat Dance around it. They all knew they had to discuss it, but noone really got to it. Then, some weeks ago, it was confirmed that "It ain't gonna happen." Also my Manager approached me, and talked this and that, and tried to be polite about it. He said how smart I was, how thankful he was that he had me... He wish I didn't leave at that time, and hopes I come back.
Yeah, all nice and happy, but I already knew this was coming. I did the same thing last year. Well, aside from the part of going to Brazil, because things came up unexpectedly. In the world of retail, this is usually the norm, so I am not all miffed about it.
Besides that, there are other things that are annoying me. Lisa, the girl that works with me, and is theoretically above me, has been out for a bit over 2 weeks now, and is not coming back next week. She might come back the week after that I was told by the Ops Manager. Also, everyone is dancing around the reason why she is not there. She might be... a) dealing with family problems in Wisconsin b) Dealing with her Husband here in Georgia c) Violently Sick, and can't come in d) Something random, with cluelessness. Although, she did put in a formal Leave of Absence. I hope it's nothing serious.
The second one, is co-workers. They are all doing much better now. They still screw up on orders, but they are ok. I still dislike coworker G. He asks the same questions again and again, and manage to make the same errors even thought I explained it to him time and time again. My Trainee, Jonny, is slowly catching up to things, but he has this amazing ability to zone out very specific instructions on what to do for things to be correct. So, he just ignores, and acts on his own behalf. I think he is afraid to ask for help when he screws up.
Ohh, something fun... Frantz is now working on my division. According to management, there are too many people that already do his position. Which begs the question, why the heck did you hire them in the first place. Anywho, the whole reason he is being hired, is to theoretically replace me. He will be doing all my duties during the time I am out, and will keep working from then. He is so easy to train, because he actually pays attention, and understands things. He sees that some menus and things have a logical flow. I am happy to be teaching him. Although he doesn't respond well when I am sarcastic. Which is theoretically sometimes mean, but usually just me being frustrated. He doesn't frustrate me, so things go well.
Aside from that, and some salespeople being completelly mindless, the Sales Manager irks me. I didn't really like him from the beggining, but he is a nice guy, and drive sales. His attitude sometimes, and the ways he sees things can get irky. He is generally nice to me, but he has his buttons. Mainly a big red button of things from Retail crossing over to Corporate, and more importantly vice versa. I say that because me, along with 2 salespeople got voices raised at for something that was completelly innocent. He thought I handed a sale to their side, that wasn't good, but I was just trying to help people, and happen to ask a salesperson on the floor the specs for something. While I was finshing a credit app, the customer just walked to talk to the salesperson. The salesperson took the sale, and that is when the bull saw red, and came storming into us.
Fun Fact, I am getting to like my manager. It took some time to adjust, but I understand where he comes from better. My new Ops manager seems cool, but ehh, not quite to a in sync point yet. At times at work, we say we need a Bry (our old Ops Manager) *grins* Although the new one is still getting used to everything. She got tacked on a whole bunch of things she didn't use to do before, so it's understandable.
As it's said, Things move along, and people move on. I shall see how things move for me
