A little employment ranting

| | Comments (0)

First, lucky I didn't post this message yesterday, because it had some heavy steam to be blown.

Now, for a little description of ickyness about yesterday.

Schedules had to change, and we had to cut down hours, that sucked, and it wasted a bit of my time.
Issues in the business side were plain old stupid and highly avoidable, that drained some more time.
Lazy managers added a bit to it all.
Unresposive managers topped the insult.
Because one manager can't open without ahead cashier I had to go the day without a second string cashier.
Also, my main cashier had to leave because he was sick, so me and coworker had to take short hastened lunches.
The scanner didn't work, and the money counting machine was half busted (they both work now, but at that night, they were a pain)
The backup tape wasn't changed till afternoon, which was just annoying at night.
I reiterate the fact that the schedules were changed, and most coverage is now eliminated, and the Head cashiers will have to pick up the slack.
The morning stuff wasn't done, and due to many issues and uncessary pages, and laziness of other people, I didn't get to do it
Managers override each other on decisions, it sucks. I had someone to cover a register while I closed, but then another manager decided otherwise.
I had to then tend to a register, and just delay even more the closing stuff.
The folder was a bit messy, and due to a wonderful paper jam from the previous night, I was missing plenty of paperwork
No time to take care of customer issues that have been due for a freaking week.
No time to organize the work enviroment, file things, or take care of anything feisable.
Audits couldn't be done.
The store is a mess, and noone really knows what the hell goes on.
Tags are wrong, and misdated.
It's a daily strugle to have to price match 5 to 10 tags because they were erroneous, or do outrageous deals because someone forgot to take a promo tag off.
If something is not done, someone besides them is always blamed, even though the job was not assigned to the other person, and the original person was to do the work.
We forget to call issues in, and if we do we don't have time to deal with them.
Machies are slowly breaking, and there's no time to troubleshoot.
Boxes are misplaced.
We have items, and no idea who's the customer we are holding them for, yet we have the item locked up in an office.
There's a huge lack of coverage everyday on almost every section. People wonder around aimlessly and a lot of times leave.
Managers don't answer managers pages and customers walk out.
Managers hide in their offices at times. I do sincerelly mean hide.
All my cashiers have special requests. Everyone has tight schedules, and people keep switching and want to leave early.
There's no respect for decisions or authority overall.
Me and Frantz need access to certain databases. We asked for a request, but manager keeps forgetting
No access to databases fucks up requests that we need to look at and causes store more loss.

Tax accruals to do complete utter disregard for the rules.
I repeat the tax issue. We give exempt status to people not even in the sector. People pay tax exempts with cash, and personal cards.
There's half filled paperwork, and we are missing half the proof.
Inventory ends up in all crazy places, and absolutelly noone can find things we have 10+ off.

Anywho... There's plenty more, but I'm just tired of ranting.

First, I would like to say...

me and my ipod mini

Ok, now with that being said, *grins*, it was a nice relaxing christmas.

There was yummy food, and gifts, and nice togetherness. Also taking pictures while running and jumping to bed was really popular this year. This year it was celebrated with me, sis, her bf, mom and richie. Again, it was so mild, and happy, and I enjoyed it overmuch. Sis was happy with the TV we gave her, and as always mom gets Eternity. We all got what we wanted (granted sister did kinda hint that we forgot to get her a wireless keyboard.) That's coming to her, I just gotta remember to buy it.

Ahh, for the rest of the day, just relaxing. That and random dancing with IPOD. I couldn't help it, it's not like my MP3 cd player. It's smaller, and easier to dance with. Ahh, I love my mini, it's gonna be awsome at school to have it. Joy Joy Joy.

A Work Shift

| | Comments (0)

Ahh, work, well, yeah, umm, it's going along.

Now, Russell is fully gone. There's things shifting about. We are training people to our jobs a bit more. It's an interesting shift. I get approached by upper management, and they ask me to train, and look over some people, since they are going to be our backups. Just in case someone is not there, or someone calls out, we can shift people to replace them. We've been close to running a skeleton crew. Completelly exposed to anything that happens. So, this makes sense overall. I'm sure they are scared of people leaving, and they just might.

There aren't many rumors roaming around, but they are a few things, which are big, and we'll have to see how they pan out.

I got more duties, and I feel them, I feel them indeed. Things to control and take care off. I don't mind it, but it draws me to work like there is no tomorrow. A ever increasing to do list, that nags at me every time I enter the office. It's a constant thing, and I'm attached to it now.

Thigs holiday season is going to be spent in retail havock. This year, I don't have a cushy scape. I liked my Miami, and other trips. They're not here this year. Other people are taking their little breaks. Hey if not me, them, so I don't mind.

A Fabled e-amil

I sat down.
I opened my e-mail.
I typed

The Adressee?

My Dad

I finally e-mailed my dad. Doesn't seem like much, but it is. I am the one that least communicates with my dad. Mom talks to him on the phone once in a bit, and has started e-mailing him. It's the same with my sister. Me, I'm usually away, or don't feel like talking when they call. I know he has a e-mail (as I noted before) yet have not e-mailed him, even though I had the time and the chance. Yes, plenty of chances, I have access to computers, and am constantly on them, and yet did not, until now, take 5 minutes to send an e-mail to my dad.

Now, I'm glad I did it, and will probably keep in contact with him this well. He's my dad after all, even though I haven't seen him for 10 years now (He's in Brazil, so it's not that easy.)

So, I feel good about it, and hopefully things will go well from this point.

Marcio Self Improvement Plan

Yeay, it's that time of the end of the year. The time to create goals and stuff. Well, I was gonna have a go at it anyways, but I just thought I would ad some blogging glitter to it, and give it a cool name. So, "Marcio Self Improvement Plan" sounds good, it's MSIP, and it's an acronym. Acronyms make things seem official, and that's my exact idea.

So, under MSIP *grin* I get to recall all those things I've not do much off. It's fun and interesting. I already did a thing that makes me a better person in general I think (coming up on it's own post.)

Anywho, I've done enough starts to know how to do one with class and pizazz. Well, and this is no different, or better yet, it is indeed different. It's different, because it's fresh, and, umm, good. Yeah, good, that's what it is, good, and... clever. Ohh, now we're cooking, it's clever. Ok, I'm just being silly now, but one would get the general idea.

The plan is just a label to my ongoing effort to better and improve myself. As I said, it's ongoing, and it's a small step by step thing. I keep track of it internally pretty much, and list anything worthwhile here. I'm happy it has a label, and that for some strange psychological reason, just seems to boost my drive to get things done with it.

Icey Fun

Ahh, so I went ice skating yesterday with the Alliance people. It was
extremelly fun, and there was plenty of laughing.

Last time I went ice skating was over 3 years ago, and it was only
once. That means that I could not skate worth a cent. I kept hugging
the sides of the rink like there was no tomorrow. I fell many ways
down the ice, but got back up, and later was able to skate to an
acceptable point. It was fun falling down, it was fun skating, it was
just fun.

Off to work I am...
